About Eastbourne District General Hospital
Eastbourne District General Hospital is located on Kings Drive in Eastbourne, East Sussex. The hospital opened in 1977 and has grown to offer about 380 beds and many important medical services.
The Eastbourne hospital includes an Accident & Emergency (A&E) department for urgent care. Most other services, such as specialist treatments and outpatient appointments, require a referral from a doctor. Eastbourne District General Hospital works closely with other local health services to provide good care for patients.
Getting to the hospital is easy. Several bus routes stop outside on Kings Drive, including the 1A, 4, 5, and 54. Other buses stop inside the hospital grounds. Eastbourne train station is about 1.5 miles away, with regular trains from London Victoria. Hampden Park station is also nearby but has fewer trains. A taxi rank is available at Eastbourne station.
Parking is available on site with pay-and-display options. Blue Badge holders can park for free. The hospital buildings are accessible, with step-free entrances and facilities for people with disabilities.
